Car Body #157

As of Jan. 20, 2025, this is the information we have about this car:

[Dec.01.2004] The new owner is in the land of the rising sun ...Japan ! He wrote: Sorry for the long silence. We are located in the snow country of Niigata, Japan, which was recently struck by a huge quake. The Brougham survived ! The owner, Toyokazu Mizushima bought the car from the previous owner, Mr. Davidson, about four years ago. Toyo has kept the original look and systems, and the car runs quite well. Some restoration jobs were done both in the US and Japan. The Brougham won last year's "Japan Sea Classic Car Review" contest (the first time for a non Japanese car in the ten year history of the event - the biggest classic car contest on Japan's sea coast). After the contest, one of the most prestigious auto-magazines in Japan, "Car Graphic", ran an article with photos of the car (the magazine photo provided herewith was attached). Toyo is a Cadillac enthusiast who especially loves the 1957 Eldorado Brougham. This winter, the Brougham will undergo minor maintenance of the braking and cooling systems.

[Jan.01.2003] The car found a new home. Yann Saunders was contacted by the new owner who says how pleased he is to have at his disposal an information resource like The (new) Cadillac Database, of which this page forms but a small part. I hope he will tell us soon where he is located and how this car has fared in the last twenty years.

[Late 1970s] This car was owned in by E. A. Davidson of Santa Ana, CA. This car, one of 11 painted Nairobi Pearl in 1957 (code #149]), was featured prominently in Car Exchange for July 1982 in an article by Dennis Adler entitled 1957 Eldorado Brougham by Cadillac, on the Edge of Reality... It appeared also in Cars and Parts (date unknown) in an article entitled The Epitome of Opulence, signed by Bob Stevens.
