As of April 18, 2025, this is the information we have about this car:
[Nov.01.2016] Received an email update from Remi Hansen who owns 1958 Eldorado Broughams #438, #468, and #563, as well as 1959 EB #74. All cars are in northern Norway. Remi mentioned that he just sold 1960 #100. He stated the following: I bought 60 EB #81 from Canada and payed $3.508 back in August 2007. It was a real bad project, and as I was full of desire to work (always like that on a new project), I teared it down and sent it away to put it in an acid bath. Both frame and body. Found a lot of rust and old damages. As every Brougham owner knows, these cars are not cheap restoring. Just the carpet (Mouton from Mastermind) alone did cut my savings with $5.000 + shipping and Norwegian taxes. The car is being restored to concourse quality and is of course built back to it’s original air ride system. The frame with motor and transmission is finished. I also try to use as much NOS parts as I possible can. See pictures of moldings still wrapped in Pininfarina paper. Neat!
[Oct.01.2007] The car is now in Norway, in the hands of enthusiast Remi Hansen who intends to restore it fully. As you can see from the photos he kindly supplied herewith, he has his work cut out for a few months!
[August, 2007] The car was offered for sale on eBay. It ran before it was parked. There is some surface rust on the floor pans but they are solid. Windshield and back glass are perfect, however some of the side glass is cracked but is flat and so can easily be replaced. The original engine with tri-power set up is intact along with the rare air cleaner.
[December, 2005] Ed still has this one in storage.
[Fall 2000] The car was still for sale by Art Levine. This may be the editor's fault; I see, for example, that the Arpège perfume bottle and Cross pencil I had for sale two years ago are still listed for sale in that same BOA newsletter.
[Fall 1998] The car is currently in primer, waiting to be restored more fully. Ed Pentesco of Ontario, Canada, acquired it in Las Vegas from one Art Levine ... who still advertises it for sale in the BOA newsletter ! It was delivered initially to Chicago; it was described as being in condition #4; the car is on coil springs; with that car comes the rare, leather-bound 1960 Brougham owner's manual.
