The (new) Cadillac Database© has turned into such a vast undertaking that the compiler is having difficulty meeting the request of many of its users who would like to see more pictures of contemporary or "modern" Cadillac models.
Now that the bulk of Cadillacs up to 1975 have been covered, wholly or even partly, it is time to move into the last two decades of Cadillac's long, successful history as a manufacturer of fine, quality automobiles.
The compiler of The (new) Cadillac Database© regrets the time it has taken to upload the photo pages for what he considers to be the "modern" Cadillacs. Even though many of them now are 35 years old, still, in his eyes, they do not belong to what he perceives as Cadillac's "Golden Age", extending only through the first seventy years of production.
So far as I have been able to determine, the easiest way to ID most 1983 models is by looking, again, at the "Veed" front grille which, as in 1982, is divided into three horizontal areas, each with many narrow, vertical openings. This theme was carried through to 1984, with only slight modifications. In 1983 a "Cadillac" script nameplate was added to the center section of the divided grille, at the far left.
Additional information and photos of the 1983 models and the related sales literature may be found in The (New) Cadillac Database© sections entitled "Descriptions and Specifications of Cadillac Cars 1976 - 1997", "Cadillac and La Salle Sales Literature 1980-1984" as well as in the appropriate "Dream cars" section. Further recommended reading includes:
- Standard Catalog of Cadillac, 1903-2000 edited by James T. Lenzke, © 2000, published by Krause Publications, Inc., 700 E. State Street, Iola, WI 54990 [ISBN #0-87341-925-1, Library of Congress #91-61301]. An updated version covering Cadillacs through 2005 was edited by John Gunnell that year.

Images below are from the factory merchandising brochures for that year. The various models are shown in ascending order of their cost.
Cimarron
The cheapest Cadillac in the model range was, again, the Cimarron, Series 6J, style G69,
four cylinder model; price was up this year to $12,215 and weight to 2,639 lbs;
production declined to 19,194 units; engine capacity went up this year to 2.0 liters
DeVille
The Coupe
Above: the DeVille, Series 6C, style D47 coupe and its interior layout; this year, the price
went up to $15,970 and the weight to 3,935 lbs; taken together with the Fleetwood
Brougham coupe style B47 (below),production increased to 65,670 units (again there
was no breakdown of production numbers for these two different two-door styles)
The DeVille coupe was available optionally with the so-called "cabriolet roof"
(the latter being standard on the Fleetwood Brougham coupe); the term "cabriolet"
was first used by Cadillac in the twenties to designate a car with a special
covering (initially leather) applied to all or part of the metal roof

Seville
The standard Seville
Increased demand for the classy, bustle-back Seville, Series 6K, style S69, may have resulted in a
slight price decrease to $21,440, while weight increased to 3,844 lbs; a special edition Elegante
model was available (below) and is included in the foregoing production total (price unknown)

The cabriolet roof option
The Seville models too could be ordered with the so-called "full cabriolet roof",
giving the car the look of a convertible sedan or all-weather phaeton of old
