I have found time, after three years (!) to put together the 1965 Cadillac photo page. I hope you will enjoy it.

Most images and photos are from my own collection. Many are factory photos graciously provided to me through the years by the Cadillac Division's Public Relations Department. Others have been scanned from that year's merchandising literature and other similar sources.

Total production was 181,435 cars of the model year, an increase of some 16,000 units over the previous year.

Again, the easiest way to distinguish a 1965 Cadillac from a model of any other year is to look at the front clip and rear tail fins.  The 1965 models gained "stacked" headlights this year.

The traditional Cadillac tail-fin disappeared this year, on all but the Series 75 sedan and limousine (Cadillac did not re-tool for that series until 1966).

As in 1963-64, Fleetwood models for 1965 are distinguished by the absence of any trim molding running down the center of the car sides. Instead, they feature a small wreath and crest on the roof quarter panel (60 Special) and at the extremity of the rear fender, close to the tail-light housings (Eldorado).

Look also for identifying script or lettering on some models (De Ville, FLEETWOOD, ELDORADO, etc.)

Additional information and photos of the 1965 models and the related sales literature may be found  in The (New) Cadillac Database© sections entitled "Descriptions and Specifications of Cadillac Cars  1956-1965",  "Cadillac and La Salle Sales Literature 1965-1969" as well as in the appropriate "Dream cars" section.  Further recommended reading includes:

And here's a You Tube video of a '65 De Ville convertible to whet your Cadillac appetite !  Here's another one that I believe was filmed in Sweden or Norway !  How about this shot of the LH rear light unit?

I guess that  for reasons of economy the big "75" cars for 1965
used the same body shell as the 1964 models, hence it is not easy to distinguish between them
This one features the optional formal roof with closed rear quarters and false landau bars.
