Principal features: Parking lights mounted on fender crowns [with same hood louvers as 1928   = easy ID], double-bar bumpers, single, oval tail-light curving upwards, Syncro-Mesh clashless, 3-speed transmission, improved mechanical 4-wheel brakes, Security-Plate safety glass all round, adjustable front seat, chrome-plated trim in lieu of nickel, new 90° Cadillac V-8 engine (L-Head), metric spark plugs fitted mid-year, tandem Delco electric windshield wipers, internal expanding mechanical brakes on all 4 wheels, bodies wider, longer, roomier, all closed bodies mounted on 134" chassis, closed bodies 2½" wider and 1" higher inside, open models restricted to 125" chassis, all cars now wired for radio installation, some La Salle prices down [price list from Detroit Public Library NAHC, 9/94 and AI, 25.8.28]:

1. [From Cadillac-La Salle Distributors' Convention program 30 July - 2 August 1928, seen GM Styling Library, 9/94]: Fleetwood styles 3051 and 3751 (two town cars) were shown.

2. A custom 1929 La Salle model designed by Harley Earl was named Madam X; that appellation was used the following year for a limited run of closed bodies on the V-16 chassis.
